CREDENTIALS & ACCREDITATIONS
Why Our Credentials Matter to Your Family
Choosing a home health agency is one of the most important decisions a family makes. Here is every credential we hold, what it means, and why it matters to your loved one’s safety.
OUR CREDENTIALS
Every Credential We Hold — And What It Means
MEDICARE CERTIFIED
Medicare Certified
Medicare certification means Health at Home has been formally approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to provide skilled home health services covered under Medicare. To earn and maintain this certification, our agency must meet federal Conditions of Participation — a comprehensive set of clinical, operational, and patient safety standards enforced through periodic CMS surveys. Without it, an agency cannot bill Medicare for skilled nursing, therapy, or home health aide services.
What it means for your family: Medicare-covered services — skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and medical social work — are available to eligible patients at no out-of-pocket cost under Original Medicare Part A.
ACHC Accredited
ACHC Accredited
The Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) is a nationally recognized independent accrediting organization with CMS Deeming Authority. ACHC accreditation is voluntary — agencies are not required to pursue it — which means choosing an ACHC-accredited agency is a meaningful signal that an organization holds itself to a higher standard. Accreditation covers clinical quality, patient safety, staff credentialing, infection control, and ongoing performance improvement. Surveys are conducted every three years.
What it means for your family: An independent organization has verified that Health at Home meets rigorous standards for clinical care and operational quality — not just once, but on an ongoing basis. You can verify our accreditation at achc.org.
AHCA State Licensed
Florida AHCA Licensed
Health at Home is licensed by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) as a home health agency in the state of Florida. AHCA licensure is required by the state to legally operate as a home health provider and is maintained through regular inspections and compliance reviews. Our license covers both our Boynton Beach office (Palm Beach and Broward counties) and our Port St. Lucie office (Martin, St. Lucie, and Indian River counties).
What it means for your family: Health at Home is legally authorized by the state of Florida to provide home health services and is subject to ongoing state oversight and inspection.
BBB Accredited
BBB Accredited Business
Health at Home is accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB). BBB accreditation means we have met the BBB’s standards for trust, which include a commitment to honesty, transparency, responsiveness, and integrity in all business dealings. The BBB reviews our business practices, complaint history, and adherence to its standards on an ongoing basis.
What it means for your family: An established consumer trust organization has independently evaluated and endorsed Health at Home’s business practices. You can verify our BBB accreditation and rating at bbb.org.
Every caregiver and clinician at Health at Home is a

She is my private nurse and comes to my home daily, and from the very first day, she has shown the highest levels of professionalism, compassion, and genuine care. Nurse Basile is a beautiful person inside and out. She is loving, patient, and incredibly kind-hearted. She consistently goes above and beyond to make sure I am comfortable, supported, and in good spirits. Her caring nature is authentic — she never rushes, she listens, and she makes you feel like you truly matter. That is a rare trait in healthcare, and she carries it naturally. Her dedication, compassion, and work ethic make her a tremendous asset to Health at Home. She deserves to be recognized for the exceptional quality of care she provides every single day. It is a pleasure to have her as my nurse, and I am genuinely grateful for everything she does. As for Health at Home as a whole, I can honestly say I have never had a single bad experience. Every nurse I have met has been professional, respectful, and wonderful to work with. It is clearly a well-run company filled with people who care deeply about their patients. If you are looking for private nursing or home health services, I highly recommend Health at Home. Their team is outstanding, their care is exceptional, and you will not be disappointed. Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions About Our Credentials
What does Medicare certification mean?
Medicare certification means Health at Home has been approved by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to provide skilled home health services covered under Medicare Part A. This requires passing a formal CMS survey and maintaining compliance with federal Conditions of Participation on an ongoing basis. Eligible patients can receive skilled nursing, therapy, and home health aide services at no out-of-pocket cost under Original Medicare.
Is ACHC accreditation required for home health agencies?
No. ACHC accreditation is voluntary. Agencies are not legally required to pursue it. That is precisely what makes it meaningful — choosing an ACHC-accredited agency means that organization has voluntarily submitted to an independent review process and met rigorous standards beyond what state licensure or Medicare certification alone requires.
How do I verify Health at Home's credentials?
You can verify our Medicare certification on the Medicare Care Compare directory at cms.gov. You can verify our ACHC accreditation through the ACHC public directory at achc.org. Our Florida AHCA license can be verified at ahca.myflorida.com. Our BBB accreditation can be verified at bbb.org. We encourage you to check all of them.
What is the difference between a licensed and an accredited agency?
Licensure is a legal requirement — it is the minimum standard the state sets for an agency to operate. Accreditation is voluntary and goes further. An accredited agency has been independently evaluated by an external organization against a set of quality and safety standards that go beyond what licensure requires. Having both — as Health at Home does — means we meet state requirements AND have voluntarily exceeded them.
Do your caregivers work directly for Health at Home or are they contractors?
Every caregiver and clinician at Health at Home is a direct W-2 employee of the agency — not an independent contractor. This means they are covered under our insurance, subject to our supervision and training standards, and fully background-screened before placement. You are never taking on the legal or safety risks associated with hiring a private contractor.
